The mission of Mt. Vernon is to provide a safe and effective school environment where the study of academics, technology, and fine arts merge to encourage development of intellectual, artistic, and personal excellence.

We maintain that all children can learn, enjoy learning, and become lifelong learners. We believe that collaboration involving parents, staff, students, and community is vital to students’ success.
