Horace Mann has long been a part of the education of Bakersfield’s children. The school is the oldest campus in the Bakersfield City School District and is located on an 11 acre site in Northeast Bakersfield. With a commitment to excellence, the staff continues to provide scholastic opportunities for all students.

Our mission is to provide a safe, positive, highly-structured learning environment with help and support from the community. Together we will empower students to set and achieve goals, attain academic excellence, and develop personal responsibility and a strong work ethic. All students will be held to high expectations. Mutual respect will be the norm for students, staff and parents.
Our vision is to provide students with a positive learning environment while supporting their self-confidence and encouraging their individual potential to empower them along the path to becoming successful life-long learners.
