6th Grade Holiday Film Festival

Congratulations to our 6th grade film festival participants. The event was part of a BCSD Back to School Mini-Grant that provided our students with a GoAnimate subscription.  The student film entries came from the 6th grade class and our after school program. The show included a red carpet, popcorn and treats,  VIP guest passes, and over 200 clapping sixth grade students. You can view the full playlist below.

 

Christmas Door Decoration Contest!

Thanks to all of the advisory classes that participated in the Holiday door decorating contest!  We have some absolutely beautiful doors created by our artistic students.
Mr. King’s class (the tree) got 1st place
Ms. Arthur’s (the fireplace) class got 2nd place
Ms. Mathis (grinch on a ball) and Ms. Tobias (Grinch in whoville) tied for 3rd place
Again thanks for helping to spread the holiday cheer throughout the school.

2016 Veteran’s Day Parade

We hope you had the opportunity to share in the 97th annual Veteran’s Day festivities. Our very own Cadet Corps, band, cheerleaders, and color guard marched in the parade through downtown Bakersfield on Friday, November the 11th. Great job to all the students who represented our school!

Oral Language Festival

581e382902671_image    Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade students who represented James Curran Middle School at the Bakersfield City School District annual Oral Language Festival. This year the fair included more than forty students from across the district. An extra shout-out to Andrea Mendoza and Miranda Aparicio Rios who placed 3rd in the Humorous Interpretations Duo and Amanda Farias who is pictured online in the Bakersfield Californian.
