Community Partners In Education 2011

The Eighth Annual “Community Partners In Education” (CPIE) event was held Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Bakersfield Double Tree Hotel. The event started with breakfast at 8:00 AM, where our guests had the opportunity to network with other community members, as well as BCSD principals and administrators, and to participate in discussions on various educational issues. The mistress of ceremonies for the morning’s program was the Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s Media Relations Represenative, Katie Harlan Allen. The program included a brief presentation by BCSD Interim Superintendent D. Kent Ashworth on the successes of the District, as well as a short address on a “Partner’s Perspective” by Russell Beck of Lundgren Management.

Following breakfast, our guests joined our principals in school site visits from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, where the guests had the opporutnity to meet and interact with BCSD students and staff. For some guests, it was their first visit to their assigned school. For others, they were “partnered” with a school they had worked with before. All of the guests have been invited to participate as “community partners in education” with these schools for the 2011-2012 school year.

We are already looking forward to next year’s event!

Thanks to ALL of our Community Partners in Education.
You make a difference!

And a special thank you to our 2011 CPIE Sponsors:
