The BCSD Communications Department

The BCSD Communications team works to produce initiatives in support of communications within the District to provide staff, students, community and media with information services to enable understanding of District programs, activities and actions.

The department is responsible for several District Publications including Direct Connection Newsletter and the Guide for Parents and Students.  Communications also manages video production.  Videos are used to assist, inform, train and teach.  Video Recording and Editing Request forms are available on our website and should be submitted 2 weeks in advance.  Our translation team provides written and verbal Spanish translation of documents and presentation within the District.  These documents help keep limited-English speakers fully informed about their children.

The department manages much of BCSD’s digital communications, such as the District’s Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and several areas of the website.  Communications also works with local media to keep our stakeholders informed of news and events taking place throughout our District schools.

Communications also assists in the planning of District and BCSD Education Foundation events, such as Community Partners in Education, the Annual Gold Tournament and the Teddy Bear Picnic.
