Thinking like a Disciplinarian increases awareness of the disciplines adding depth and
complexity to the subject matter. They require learning about the specialized
vocabulary, tools, and skills of each discipline. They also connect a students own
interest and abilitities to a subject and a discipline allowing the students to immerse
themselves into the study of a discipline. Thinking like a Disciplinarian also creates
a greater awareness of the contribution of the disciplines to the world.
