It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

 December 18 – 22, 2017 students may wear holiday hats to school.  The only exception is: No bells, no blinking lights and if your classroom teacher asks that you remove them during class you are to do so.  Hats will be taken if rules are not followed and parents will need to pick up the items.

Friday 10/22 – Dress Up as your Favorite Holiday Character


Per your Chipman Student Handbook:

No Blankets are allowed.

No Electronic Devices are all allowed on school campus, which includes: phones, Ipods, cameras and speakers.

Boys/Girls Basketball & Soccer Home Games on 12/21/17 against Stiern between 3:00-4:00.  You may attend a sports game here at Chipman if….

1.You attend with your parents. (Enforced if attending an away game.  Students are not allowed on another school campus unsupervised.)

2.You have a 4.0 card.

3.You have at least a 3.0. GPA – requirements will be checked at the gate prior to you entering the field to watch the game.

Friday Games – No Afterschool Bus for students staying to support our teams. All students must follow above instructions and have prior arrangements for transportation home after the game.


Last week to qualify for the drawing to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific on January 16th.  This means that this is the last week to meet your AR goal for the incentive trip.  Finish those books this weekend so that you can take the AR tests next week.  The trip is going to be a blast and we want you to get the opportunity to win the trip.

Be Here, Be on time, complete your AR goal, and avoid Referrals (all types) and you will be put in a drawing to win a seat on one of two chartered busses going to the Aquarium of the Pacific on January 16th.  During our field trip to the aquarium, we will be going to a special behind the scenes room where whoever wants to will be dissecting a squid.  The incentive will run from November 1st-December 22nd.  Incentive guidelines:

  • Must have good citizenship (no referrals)
  • Miss no more than 2 school days during the incentive window
  • Tardy to class or late to school no more than 2 times during the incentive window
  • Met your AR goal by December 22nd.

8th Grade Students

We want to see your baby picture in this year’s 2017-2018 Chipman Yearbook.  Cost: $5 Cash Only (turn picture and money into the office during lunch).  Bring in a Baby Picture no bigger than 4×6 with your name and advisory teacher written on the back.  (Pictures will be returned in May).  Last day to turn in picture will be 2/2/18. NO EXCEPTIONS!

8th Dedications will also be published in our Chipman Yearbook. Make sure you give your parent the flyer regarding dedications with a 40-word max. Cost: $5 Cash Only. Parents can bring in the dedication to the office or students can bring in during lunch. Last day to turn in dedications is 2/2/18. No Exceptions!
