Honor Flight Update!!  Our new total is now $410.31.  We will still be accepting donations until December 7th!!!!!!!

Hello Chipman community,

This is simply a note to let you know that our students and Booster club have joined together in an effort to send a local veteran on an upcoming Honor Flight to Washington D.C.  Once in Washington D.C. the Honor Flight veterans will then get to visit and see the memorials built in THEIR honor for THEIR service to our country.  Honor Flights are no cost to the veteran, therefore fundraising is necessary.  It takes approximately $1,500 to send a veteran on an Honor Flight.  Today Chipman staff, students, and community began our fundraising efforts by selling small American flags – over $250 was raised.  If you would like to purchase a flag for one dollar or simply donate to the cause, please stop by the school office and we will assist you in getting the funds to the Chipman booster club.

Thank you Chipman community for all you do – and of course – a big THANK YOU to our veterans for your service!

All Students:  FAST PASSES are for those students who are meeting in a classroom for a particular group.  Mr. Aguilar has issued to teachers Fast Pass Cards on lanyards that will be given to students by the teacher holding a particular group during lunch.  HAND WRITTEN NOTES WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED.  There will be a separate line for students with these lanyards to enter the cafeteria for lunch.  ALL STUDENTS ARE TO EAT THEIR LUNCH IN THE CAFETERIA.  Due to District Policy: NO FOOD is to be taken out of the cafeteria.  Once students are finished eating in the cafeteria they may then proceed out with their fast pass to their designated classrooms.

The next incentive trip will be in February following our next Benchmark testing window.  Following are the ways that you can increase your chances to win a seat on the bus for the incentive trip:

  • Good Attendance (No more than two absences between November 7th and February 3rd.
  • Getting to class or in line before the late bell rings
  • Improving or passing your benchmark scores
  • Being a good citizen in each or your classes and on the yard.  This means following the rules in class or out of class, participating, staying on task, and definitely not having to be sent out of class for disruptive behavior.

The trip location is not yet set, but we are trying to set it up to visit the Reagan Library where the Air Force 1 (plane) and Marine 1 (helicopter) that President Reagan traveled in are open to walk through the inside.  This library has so many amazing artifacts that you cannot see anywhere else.   Remember the more you follow the criteria stated above, the better chance you have to be selected to go on the field trip.
