Upcoming Garden Events
Great American Cleanup
April 25th from 8:00am-12:00pm
Please join Keep Bakersfield Beautiful at Cesar E. Chavez Science Magnet Elementary School to help with campus beautification and spend time renovating in our School Garden. All volunteers will receive a free Great American Cleanup T-shirt. Ice cold lemonade, cookies, and fruit will be provided. Projects include: litter removal, planting, installing raised beds in our veggie patch, painting white picket fence, and more! If you have any questions please call the Magnet Office at 631-3266.
The purpose of The Great American Cleanup is to help students understand that taking care of the community in which they live is everyone’s responsibility. Engaging children in community service activities provides them with the opportunity to become a responsible citizen and steward of the earth.
