Pull-up uniforms, slacks and shorts for Kindergarten only: Pull-up style slacks, shorts and skorts with elastic style waistbands will be acceptable on Kindergarten students only. As children master the use of zippers and buttons, parents are encouraged to introduce regular uniform apparel in the child’s wardrobe.

Belts (optional): Children are encouraged to wear navy, black or brown belts when pants provide belt loops. Kindergarten and first grade children may struggle with belts and should not wear them until they are capable of adjusting a belt.

Skirts, skorts and jumpers: Solid navy blue and khaki tan cotton twill or corduroy uniform jumpers, skirts and skorts are acceptable. Plaid skirts, skorts and jumpers in the adopted Chavez School plaid are acceptable. Girls must wear appropriate undergarments when wearing skirts and dresses. Girls are encouraged to wear solid navy, white or khaki colored shorts under skirts at all times as this will facilitate physical activities and floor exercises. Skirts must be of an appropriate length, falling at a minimum to the end of the child’s fingertips when her arms are hung comfortably at her side.
