A Message From the Principal

KwonFamilies of Casa Loma Elementary,

I am humbled and honored to serve as your new principal!  My name is Lemuel Kwon, and I am proud to say that I am a former student of Bakersfield City School District, where I attended Pioneer Drive and Sierra Jr. High.  I worked for BCSD for 12 years: 7 years in the classroom at Garza and Longfellow Elementary, 4 years as the Academic Coach at Noble, two summers as the Migrant Academy Lead, two summers as Summer School Principal at Harris and Casa Loma, and most recently, as the Dean of Students and Vice Principal at Munsey Elementary.

My 12 years in BCSD have shaped my perspective as an educational leader:  That we must work collaboratively with all staff, parents, and community members to do what’s best for our students and accelerate student learning.  We at Casa Loma will strive to know our students and make data-driven decisions to engage, inspire, and empower every child to succeed.

I am very excited to partner with you throughout this new school year. Please know that I have an open door policy and would love to meet with you.  I look forward to meeting you and continuing the great work that has already begun here at Casa Loma.

Sincerely,

Ms. Kwon
