Russ Shuppert Bio

Mr. Russ Shuppert is currently a Social Studies teacher and the Testing and Truancy Coordinator at East Bakersfield High School. He has two decades of experience in education, beginning as a substitute teacher and then classroom teacher at several districts throughout California, until he joined the Kern High School District, where he has taught since 2009. Mr. Shuppert has also taught adult school classes at Bakersfield Adult School and court ordered classes at Lerdo Detention Center in the past. He has administrative experience as well, as an Assistant Dean and Activities Director, as well as serving on several administrative committees.

Mr. Shuppert is a native of East Bakersfield, having attended school at Edison, Arvin and Kern High School Districts and is an active member in the community. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and Teaching Credential from California State University, Chico and received his Administrative Credential in May, 2011.
