Dr. Fred L. Haynes
Trustee Area 5
Dr. Fred L. Haynes was elected to the Bakersfield City School District Board of Education in November 2012. He represents Trustee Area #5, which encompasses our South and Southwest borders.
Dr. Haynes has dedicated thirty-three years of service to the Bakersfield City School District as a teacher, central office administrator, and school site principal. Dr. Haynes earned his Bachelor of Arts from Langston University and his Masters from Fisk University. His passion for learning continued as demonstrated by earning his Doctorate of Education from Brigham Young University.
Dr. Haynes remains steadfast in his commitment to educational equity through his countless efforts in community involvement, civil rights activism, and student recognition through the Annual Fred Luther Haynes Achievement Award. Dr. Haynes and his wife Mary Alice have been married for over sixty years and are parents of three daughters and four sons.
