BCSD Student Speaks at California Reading Association Awards Ceremony

October 27, 2017 – Nichols Elementary School had the honor of being represented by sixth grade student, Breanna Estes, at the 50th Annual Professional Development Institute of The California Reading Association. The event took place on October 21-22 at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry, CA.  During the awards celebration, Estes gave an engaging speech about the book Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, by Chris Grabenstein.  Her speech included a summary, favorite moments and a strong recommendation to read the story for themselves.

Breanna Estes was selected by the Kern Reading Association President, Brenda Russell, to be the student speaker at the dinner.
