Over 1200 BCSD Students Receive New Shoes
June 5, 2017 – Nearly 1200 students at Roosevelt and Pauly Elementary Schools left class last week with smiling faces and happy feet after having received a brand new pair of shoes. The footwear was donated by the company DaVita who also sent several representatives to deliver the shoes and make sure each child got the correct size.
DaVita has partnered with Shoes That Fit, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide shoes for children so they can attend school in comfort and be better prepared to learn and play. The participating student were greeted with enthusiastic applause and received special attention from the representatives during their fittings.
The Bakersfield City School District thanks DaVita for their partnership.
