Franklin Kicks Off SBAC Testing with Rally
May 2, 2017 – In an effort to motivate students to do their best during the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) Testing this week, Franklin Elementary School held a kick-off rally.
Carla Tafoya, Principal, and Susan Creekbaum, Retired Teacher, led the event as each class paraded out onto the field to the tune of “We Will, We Will…Rock You! Rock You!” Students were encouraged by staff and fellow students to “Rock the SBAC!” Students who earned a 100% percent on last year’s test shared “Test Taking Strategies” that helped them to be successful. First Grade Teacher Ms. Rodriguez rapped a song called “ I Spy” to encourage kids to do their best on the SBAC. Primary students wrote letters to each of the upper grade students who would be testing to let them know that they believed in them! Special guest, Superintendent Doc Ervin, encouraged the students to “CRUSH it!!” Students were pumped up and ready to being testing next week! Good luck to all BCSD students during SBAC testing this week.
