Education Center Hosts Henry Greve Speech Contest

February 7, 2017 – Twelve students from five schools in the Bakersfield City School District (BCSD) were invited to participate in the annual Henry Greve Speech Contest. This year’s theme was “America’s Promise: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Each student presented their original speeches to the fellow contestants, judges and audience members in hopes of representing BCSD at the upcoming Kern County Speech Contest.

Congratulations to these four winners who will be invited to the county-wide Speech Contest Thursday, March 23rd:
1st Place – Victoria Hurley, Chipman Junior High School
2nd Place – Clara Doll, Downtown School
3rd Place – Krina Ghadia, Cato Middle School
4th Place – Caroline Goodsell, Downtown School
