February 6, 2017 – The Bakersfield City School District (BCSD) invites the public to provide input as it develops its 2017-20 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)/LEAP Local Education Agency Plan. Parents and community members are asked to take a short survey available at www.bcsd.com from February 6 – 24, 2017. The public is also invited to give their input in person during a community forum with the BCSD Board of Education on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the BCSD Board Room, 1300 Baker Street. Spanish translation services will be provided.
The LCAP, which is required by the California Department of Education for the implementation of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), provides local school districts the ability to allocate funding to better serve the needs of their students. Districts identify student needs, set goals for improvement with regards to those needs, and implement actions to ensure that programs and services meet those needs. Throughout the next few months, BCSD will engage parents, teachers, staff, students and the community in the development of the LCAP to ensure academic success for our students.
