Education Center Hosts BCSD Spelling Bee

January 20, 2017 – Congratulations to the winners of the 2017 Bakersfield City School District Spelling Bee, held this week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Education Center Auditorium!  this year’s winners are:

Region I:
1st Place:  Joshua Vibal, Stiern Middle School
2nd Place:  Erin Rowley, Ownes Intermediate School
3rd Place:  Jacob Macias, Fletcher Elementary School
4th Place:  Moises Caleb Amador, Voorhies Elementaray School

Region II
1st Place:  Jose Rangel, Compton Junior High School
2nd Place:  Kalia Morales, Mt. Vernon Elementary School
3rd Place:  Dulce Najera, Jefferson Elementary School
4th Place:  Samuel Landa, Downtown School

The Visual and Performing Arts Department will register the District Spelling Bee Winners for the Kern County Spelling Bee.  The Kern County Retired Teachers Association will hold the event on Monday, March 6, 2017, in the Bakersfield City School District’s Education Center Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.
