Parents Participate in Summer Education Sessions
June 16, 2016 – BCSD students aren’t the only ones you’ll find in the classroom this summer. Many of our parents are taking time out of their summer to learn as well. The District’s Youth Services Specialists, in collaboration with the District’s Parent Involvement Department, are teaming up to provide parent workshops created to teach and build consistent structures at home with their children. A roomful of parents participated in the session and will return over the next two weeks to learn more effective strategies on teaching appropriate behavior to their children. Interactive lessons and discussions provided the Youth Services Specialists opportunities to nurture positive feedback and build supportive relationships with the parent participants.
Summer Parent Academy sessions are being offered everyday at all summer school locations in the Parent Centers.
We wish to thank our teams and the parents for collaborating their resources for the success of our students at school and at home.
