BCSD Foundation Presents Check to Teachers
June 6, 2016 – The Bakersfield City School District Education Foundation presented a check for $20,000 to a group of BCSD teachers during the May Board of Education meeting. The funds were raised during a new fundraising event that took place in early April. The Inaugural Bakersfield Luau attracted hundreds of people that were eager to enjoy an evening of a Hawaiian experience, all for a good cause.
Nora Dominguez with the University of LaVerne, the luau title sponsor, was at the board meeting to assist in the check presentation. Proceeds from the luau will make it possible for the BCSD Education Foundation to continue to bring creative educational opportunities to District students through teacher grants.
