BCSD Henry Greve Speech Contest Winners Announced

February 19, 2016 – The Bakersfield City School District (BCSD) held its annual Henry Greve Speech Contest at the District’s Education Center Board Room on Thursday, February 18, 2016. This year’s topic was: “Do Wealth and Possessions Equal Happiness?”

Fourteen students participated in the competition. The top four highest scoring speakers were recognized as the winners of the competition and will continue on to represent BCSD in the Kern County Henry Greve Speech Contest on Thursday, Marcy 17, 2016 at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office.

The 2016 BCSD Henry Greve Speech Contest winners are:

1st Place- Emma Isabel Coleman, Chipman Junior High School
2nd Place- Isabella Carreno, Cato Middle School
3rd Place- Keshav Patel, Chipman Junior High School
4th Place- Caitlin Bautista, Chipman Junior High School

Congratulations to the winners, all the participants, and the teachers at the school sites who helped the students prepare for this year’s contest.
