BCSD Welcomes New Administrators
At the June 24, 2014, meeting of the Bakersfield City School District (BCSD) Board of Education, three new District administrators were approved by the Board. Dr. Arias introduced and recognized the newly appointed Director of Curriculum and Standards, Mr. Mark Luque and the newly appointed Principal of Longfellow School, Mr. Michael Barella. The Board also accepted Dr. Arias’ recommendation for principal at Mt. Vernon Elementary School, Mr. Alfonso Ceja.
We are fortunate to have highly qualified leaders take the reins and help our students in the coming years. Effective educational leadership makes a difference in improving the quality of learning for all students and these three new leaders are equipped to do just that, make a difference.
Congratulations to BCSD’s newest administrators. They are a welcome addition to the team and will provide excellent service at our new schools.
Mr. Mark Luque receives recognition by Superintendent Dr. Robert J. Arias.
Newly appointed Principal of Longfellow School, Mr. Michael Barella, addresses members of the BCSD Board of Education.
