Garza Elementary Spring into Health Event-April 21, 2016

Ramon Garza Elementary was selected to host the Spring into Health event on April 21, 2016, organized by Brenda Robinson and staff from the Nutrition Services Department. Garza’s After School program students had the privilege of being the tasters at this event. The excited group of students were introduced to, for some, new foods they have never tried. They tasted a variety of foods from smoothies, egg cheese sliders, turkey wraps to fresh fruits and veggies, beef sausage breakfast sandwiches and carrots with chili. After tasting the foods they were instructed to rate the foods from like, not sure, to dislike. The event ended with a very happy group who no doubt brought home some interesting conversations regarding this event.
